Melissa Baxter is the Director of Resource Development for The Greater Milwaukee Committee. She works with the GMC team to secure local, regional and national funding and other resource opportunities.

Previously, she served as the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations at Carroll University and worked as a freelance writer for publications and organizations in Milwaukee, including The Daily Reporter, Northwestern Mutual, the Medical College of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Law Journal, M Magazine, and The Freeman. Melissa and her family have lived in the Greater Milwaukee area since 2002.

Melissa serves on the boards of the Wisconsin Philanthropy Network, the Waukesha Public Library, and the Waukesha Education Foundation. She earned her B.A. in English and history from Hanover College and her M.Ed. from Carroll University where her capstone project focused on philanthropy education.
