The project team has been actively engaging community leaders, parents, and organizations serving young people to better understand their needs and inform the design of a new digital resource. To date, the team has met with community leaders including Aziz Abdullah and Mike Taylor and plans to conduct discovery sessions with approximately 10 leaders and parents representing a range of perspectives and experiences. These conversations are intentionally lightweight and collaborative, similar in approach to the recent GMC strategy sprints, with the goal of gathering meaningful feedback from both families and those working directly with young people to ensure the website’s design, functionality, and content are responsive to community needs. This discovery phase will conclude by the end of September, at which point the team will use the feedback to finalize the project scope and advance the website design. The project has also secured a verbal commitment of $10,000 from Associated Bank, with two additional funders expressing interest pending completion of the discovery phase. The project team includes Idea Wake, Boys & Girls Clubs, Hoan Group, and the Office of the Mayor, reflecting a cross-sector partnership focused on developing a resource that is informed by and responsive to the community it is intended to serve.
