National Urban League president visits Milwaukee to talk about improving urban landscapes: Slideshow

National Urban League president and CEO Marc Morial visited Milwaukee Saturday to meet with community and business leaders to talk about strategies to improve outcomes in our urban settings. JPMorgan Chase awards $3.5 million to spur economic growth in Milwaukee

JPMorgan Chase is donating $3.5 million to a partnership of Milwaukee economic development organizations to support commercial building and entrepreneurship in low-income areas and neighborhoods serving people of color. A group of Milwaukee organizations that include the Milwaukee Local Initiatives Support Corp., Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Savings and Loan Association, Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corp. and the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. secured the funding through a JPMorgan Chase competition called PRO Neighborhoods (Partnerships for Raising Opportunity in Neighborhoods). Johnson Controls CEO: Milwaukee will benefit from $100M venture fund

George Oliver believes the four-company Wisconn Valley Venture Fund will lead to "big business" for the Milwaukee area. Oliver, chairman and CEO of Johnson Controls International plc since 2017, discussed the $100 million partnership at Monday's Greater Milwaukee Committee monthly meeting. Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) formed the venture fund in late August along with Foxconn Technology Group, Northwestern Mutual and Advocate Aurora Health Care.
